It\u2019s hard to believe it\u2019s been five years since Searching Spirit was published. I think enough time has gone by to say, I was proud of this book. Not just because of the success it enjoyed (though that is always lovely) but more because of the\u00a0 \u201chealing\u201d journey Pete went on as a result of the process.\u00a0 \u00a0Not only could I map out where the \u201creal\u201d story was in his life experiences, but I could see where there were still opportunities for healing along the way – and Pete discovered a few of his own. He had a few “OMG” moments I can tell you.<\/p>\n

For those wishing to write a book these \u2018opportunities for healing’ typically present themselves as blocks or fears in the writing process. Typically a writer will balk and say, \u201cOh I can\u2019t say this\u201d or \u201cI\u2019d better not say that\u2026\u201d There\u2019s something about committing our truth or our \u201clived experience\u201d to the page, that makes people run and hide. It\u2019s at this stage many would-be writers give up by saying the immortal lines \u201cwho\u2019d want to hear my story anyway?\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n

As a ghostwriter and memoir mentor, I kept coming across people who wanted to write a book, had a great story but always struggled when it came to being \u201creal\u201d or authentic in their narrative. So many people want to be seen as \u201cgood\u201d or \u201cnice\u201d or \u201cspiritual\u201d, but that\u2019s not real life \u2013 and for the most part, potential readers either find this boring or can\u2019t relate. Either way, they switch off and put the book down.<\/p>\n

Everyone has a great story inside them, but few are \u201chealed\u201d enough to share that story in an honest way \u2013 or in a way that could help others. For people to feel seen and understood at their worst moments, they need to see the awfulness of the human condition in someone else. If all they see is a goody two-shoes making all the right choices in life, it causes further disconnect – and for the reader that makes the writer less relatable. It felt like there was a missing step in the writing process for those who had experienced pain, trauma or for those who still had unhealed parts of themselves.<\/p>\n

I decided to draw on all my \u2018professional\u2019 skills across writing (and I think it\u2019s important to stress that I am a real human being with qualifications and not AI), my years of study, and personal experience, in trauma therapy, as well as my work as an Akashic Records practitioner, to create a range of workshops and mini exploration sessions. Slowly, yet consciously, a unique ‘heal with writing’ modality called Write from Source came into being.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I created a framework that enabled me to provide each would-be writer with a personalised approach\u00a0 – to help others\u00a0 use writing as a tool for healing and transformation,\u00a0before<\/em>\u00a0they decide whether they can commit their truth to the page in a Memoir or blog. These sessions help identify the empowering or compelling story \u2013 and sometimes the\u00a0 \u201cunstoried story\u201d to reveal their\u00a0 authentic voice.<\/p>\n

In the business world of publishing, your agent or publisher doesn\u2019t care about your fears or traumas, they just want to know if your book is a good business proposition. But I care! If you have a story inside you that still causes pain, I can help. I also care about all those other souls you came here to help \u2013 by sharing your voice and your story.<\/p>\n

If you have a story or message you wish to share, but you are not a good writer (technically), there are ways around that. I can either ghostwrite your story in your voice\u00a0 so that your experiences are still shared with your audience, or I can mentor you and sit with you in writing sessions as you begin to play with the connection between words and what your soul came here to share. I have to say, the latter is probably my preferred way of working \u2013 purely because you, yourself will feel and experience the changes as I take you through the Write from Source process. You will then be equipped to go on and write many more stories to share with others. BUT, if you have an important message for the collective and need someone to just take over the reins of writing, I am more than happy to get my ghost writing hat on and write every single word and map every plot point for you.
